KBS Lite

connecting digital homes to PsipTN

KBS Lite is intended for connecting low bandwidth requirement consumer electronics devices and applications to the PsipTN. Ideal for home automation devices and networks, KBS Lite is designed to operate in digital homes and is capable of linking all of the user's home automation devices onto the PsipTN for centralized configuration, management, and service subscription. Designed to support popular home automation standards including Insteon/X10, Z-Wave and ZigBee, KBS Lite acts as a gateway to link user’s existing home automation devices inside a digital home with their respective applications over the PsipTN. Equipped with a powerful Policy Engine, KBS Lite maps actions required by a PsipTN application into commands recognizable by the home automation devices and it also maps events reported by home automation devices into data formats understandable by the user subscribed PsipTN applications.

Through the use of a KBS Lite, a user simply plugs in any home automation device into an existing home automation network such as a Z-Wave network and this user will immediately be able to manage this device from the convenience of a web portal as well as subscribe to new applications which support such device from the same web portal. KBS Lite is generally bundled with selected consumer electronics devices and offered as a package to consumer users.
