TelTel and Seednet Launch VoIP Service Through SVNO Partnership Program
- TelTel facilitates rapid deployment of VoIP service for leading Asian ISP -
SANTA CLARA, CA - September 19, 2005
- TelTel, a provider of SIP-based global Internet telephony
with presence-enabled features, announced today the launch of a new VoIP telephony service in
Taiwan through a SVNO partnership with Seednet, the leading Internet Services Provider (ISP) in the
Greater China region. Seednet manages and carries the largest Internet traffic flow in Taiwan.
Wagaly TelTel (WT) is the new co-branded VoIP telephony service powered by TelTe's PsipTN -
the SIP-based network backbone and turnkey solution for service providers. The service will be formally
available to the 250,000 Seednet subscribers with an ADSL broadband connection in late October. The
service allows users to make cost-effective Wagaly TelTel-enabled PC-PSTN calls both within Taiwan
and internationally.
TelTel's SVNO partnership program allowed Seednet to minimize development effort by relying on
TelTel's proven platform technology, ready-made softphone client, competitively priced SIP termination
and origination services, and seamless billing system integration through TelTel's billing APIs. Seednet
gained a strong advantage of optimal turnaround time from service planning to deployment in the burgeoning
market of VoIP.
"Seednet aims to succeed in emerging market of VoIP service by allying with strategic partners and
providing customers with the best services," said CJ Cherng, CEO of Seednet. "This partnership with
TelTel allows us to offer our subscribers with better and more affordable ways to communicate via both
PC-to-PC and PC-to-PSTN calls with the Wagaly TelTel service."
Seednet will be delivering current service offerings right onto users' desktop via the co-branded softphone
client Wagaly TelTel. More new services using TelTel's VoIP technology and features will be released
later this year.
"By partnering with Seednet, one of Taiwan's leading ISPs, TelTel is opening up our services to a large
market with great growth potential," said Kuolai Shu, President of Taiwan branch office of TelTel. "This
allows us to help Seednet break new technological ground in offering their large subscriber community
the ability to make PC-to PSTN calls."
