What technologies does TelTel use?

TelTel is a managed peer-to-peer Internet telephony application. This term describes a powerful and flexible mix of the client-server and the peer-to-peer architecture model. Within this hybrid model, routing and repository services reside centrally, meaning that clients can come and go without impacting the Quality of Service (QoS). Additionally, TelTel ensures that presence information is always accurate. Key services, such as media exchange, are handled directly by the clients as peers, thereby distributing the load among end-users and providing top-notch scalability.

TelTel uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) as its underlying messaging protocol. In addition to being an open standard that is fast becoming the industry standard, SIP is optimally designed to take advantage of this unique approach. Furthermore, SIP enables TelTel technology to integrate smoothly with many other applications and networks.
